Challenge: Design a new developer owned private club in the tradition of early California golf clubs.
Clubhouse Design Solution: A ClubCorp Club, Granite Bay was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and Kyle Phillips and is considered a "modern classic". It was designed in the tradition of earlier California clubs such as the San Francisco Country Club, Pasatiempo Golf Club and the Olympic Club with small greens and tight fairways. The clubhouse design follows in this tradition, nestled close to the tees and greens creating an intimate atmosphere with the golf course.
