Minikahda Club

Minneapolis, Minnesota

Challenge: Established in 1898, the Minikahda Club, is Minneapolis' oldest and most prestigious country club. The original clubhouse was designed in the Greek Revival style with marvelous porches that over looked the course and Lake Calhoun to the east. Over time, the porches were filled in and the architectural detail was slowly diluted.

Clubhouse Design Solution: Partners & Sirny was charged with bringing back the original character as well as adding a porch overlooking the first tee. A two level addition incorporated a porch and a women’s lounge. During investigations our team found several original details covered up by walls and new flooring. These areas were incorporated in the process of bringing back the original Greek Revival details.
